Journal - June 29th, 2011

Hello!! Today has been an eventful day...

The girls and I went for a walk (after we all did pilates together - Kaia used her butterfly blanket as her yoga mat!) and tried to chase the rooster that lives half a mile up the highway; unfortunately, he and his hens were hiding very stealthily in the brush. Oh, well... We'll try again another day!

I worked out in "Garden Greenthumb" for about an hour; fluffing, harvesting, and enjoying the greenery... Very relaxing. I'm super excited to have Red Peppers growing! I have two actual peppers :-) I did the math on how much money I could save a month on not having to buy Red Pepper alone and the figures reflect close to $20! I feed soo many Rpepps to AlphaJ and I that having our own harvest will help our produce stock tremendously (not to mention the gas money saved... I get to burn calories walking down the stairs and around the garden, rather than burning fossil fuels polluting my garden's healthy air!).

Tomorrow, we are road-tripping down to Marietta for the day. I have a few errands to run while J does his work. In the afternoon, the girls and I will hopefully get some pool time with Gramma and Frozen Yogurt treats afterwards :-P Yum!

J and I are having Shrimp and CousCous for dinner with a frozen veggie mix (easiness is welcome on the nights before a GA day; we wake at 5am for a 3 hour drive). Good Stuff! At least we're enjoying fresh herbs on our shrimp; I suppose that makes up for the frozen produce...

I'm off for now; the stove needs a simmerin'!

Good Afternoon... Omegan again :-)

This morning we woke up to rain again, so my walk and AlphaJ's work day were both a no-go. Bummer on both. But, we made the best of the day; I did my pilates early and went to Murfreesboro for a morning meeting. While I was there, I met with the potential employer (cross your fingers!) and made a quick run to Walmart.

I got home just in time for lunch and was able to enjoy family time at the table. This afternoon, so far, the girls played with the marble set and are now watching a show. J and I relaxed on the couch; he read while I finished my dream catcher.

This evening's plans and dinner are still undecided... J may be going into Murfreesboro for his meeting tonight; if he does, dinner is a free-for-all: I'll finish the veggies from last night, mixed with a can of tuna and some pasta.

I guess that's all for now! Bye!

Journal - June 27th, 2011

Good Evening!

Today was a fun, but productive day. The clouds did not cry today (as Kaia would put it), so we had full disclosure to have time outside. I was able to go for a 2 mile walk after my pilates! I enjoy being out in the fresh air; and I love knowing that I'm enjoying Nature and helping my body all at the same time :-)

The girls took baths today; they alternated bath-time/Wii-time... It seemed to work out pretty well. Holly has learned how to play the Dora game (just from watching Kaia) so she has been really enjoying playing. [They both really enjoy playing Wii Sports with Dad]. While they did that, I was busy cleaning the kitchen and washing dishes. I also had to fold a leftover load of laundry from yesterday, but at least they were clean, dry, and ready to be folded.

After lunch, the girls watched shows and I went out and "fluffed" the garden. I harvested three tomatoes and one cherry tomato. I also transplanted the Banana Pepper sprouts from the front to the row in the garden; AND I transplanted all of my apple trees into their own, individual pots... Now they will have plenty of room to stretch the roots!
AlphaJ worked on his drains and tank for the rainwater/garden irrigation. The original valve was leaking, so he purchased new and fixed his best. I think he did a darn good job. Now we just need it to rain again so we can test the system.

Tonight's dinner menu is Tilapia with Fresh Lemon Thyme and Fresh Orange Zest with a hint of Fiesta lime spice; J Baked potatoes; and Green Beans with onion, mushrooms and fresh tomatoes. Yummy!

That's all for now... Bye!  - Omegan :-D

Journal - June 26th, 2011 - Update!

Omegan here again!

The rain cleared out for a good part of the day, so I was able to go outside and go for a 2 mile walk after my pilates this morning. As I was walking, I watched the clouds from the storm system that had just passed through; I have such a greater appreciation for the weather, clouds, and storms learned from J's passion for the subject. He has taught me how to watch the rotations in the clouds and helped me learn the state of TN just from relating the radar on the computer to where we see things happening in the sky outside.

Jeremiah worked on the drainage system from the spouts to a tank underneath the back porch (to store rainwater to water the garden) and I fluffed plants and played in the garden :-) Today, I harvested 6 jalapeno peppers, one cherry tomato, and one Jet Star tomato. I, sadly, lost half of one of my zucchini plants (from an unknown unfortunate accident). My strawberry field is reviving itself; one plant even has a new flower! And almost all of J's melon plants are flowering and putting off tendrils. I pulled a carrot, beet, and radish to check progress; we still have some growing to do...

It's almost 2pm and AlphaOmegan are going to relax in front of a show for the next two or so hours. We're having Omegan Pizza for dinner; Yummy!! I love homemade pizza (and I'll be using fresh herbs and produce!).

It's a rainy Omegan Day today! We all woke up to a rumble of thunder and natural watering for "Garden Greenthumb."

I'm about to get ready for my pilates; then it's tackling the chore list :-)

Good Morning!!

Today is going to be an adventurous day... I'm driving into Murfreesboro for a meeting; while I'm there, I hope to stop and chat with one of J's clients that is looking for help (potential job!) and then the girls and I will probably spend some time at the "Dragon" Park. I also need to stop by Target and return a tank top that I purchased (Target's Never fit me right, but they are super cute).

After our adventure, our afternoon will hopefully not involve too much more than lounging, movie watching, and crafting :-)

I'm sure I'll be back on later with more!

Bye, for Now - Omegan :-)

Journal - June 24th, 2011 - Update!

Hello! Omegan here, again...

Just wanted to give an update on today:

 - I worked out in the garden:

*pepper plants that needed fluffing; they are producing lots of yummy spiciness!
*tomato plants are happy and healthy, but they needed some balance in their stalks... I used some hemp string to help prop them up.
*fluffed all my zucchini, squash, beets, radish, and carrots. They are all coming along very nicely.
*So far, I've harvested blueberries, and one each zucchini, jalepeno, tomato, and cherry tomato.

 - The girls and I went to town to get gas and go the bank
 - AlphaJ went to work and returned home with special treats for me: Starbuck's SFVanilla syrup (for my coffee! coffee! coffee!), raspberries, and blackberries :-D He's soo wonderful.
 - Tonight for dinner we are having AngelHair Pasta with Shrimp and Fresh Zucchini... Yum yum!
 - New "Garden Greenthumb" video coming soon!

Have a fantastic evening!
